Safety

The e-tron GT’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Celestiq doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The e-tron GT has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Celestiq doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Both the e-tron GT and the Celestiq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The e-tron GT’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the Celestiq’s (12 vs. 6 years).

Engine

The S e-tron GT’s standard electric motors produces 70 more horsepower (670 vs. 600) than the Celestiq’s electric motors. The RS e-tron GT performance’s standard electric motors produces 312 more horsepower (912 vs. 600) than the Celestiq’s electric motors.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the S e-tron GT with its standard motors gets better mileage than the Celestiq (91 city/88 hwy vs. MPGe).

The e-tron GT has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Celestiq doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the e-tron GT’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Celestiq:

Front Rotors

15.4 inches

16.1 inches

13.5 inches

Rear Rotors

14.1 inches

14.4 inches

13.6 inches

The e-tron GT RS offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The Celestiq doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

Tires and Wheels

The e-tron GT’s optional 305/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Celestiq’s optional 35 series tires.

Chassis

The Audi e-tron GT may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 850 pounds less than the Cadillac Celestiq.

The S e-tron GT is 1 foot, 8.5 inches shorter than the Celestiq, making the e-tron GT easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Passenger Space

The e-tron GT has standard seating for 5 passengers; the Celestiq can only carry 4.

Cargo Capacity

The e-tron GT’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Celestiq doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the e-tron GT’s trunk can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Celestiq doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Ergonomics

Laser headlights, standard on the e-tron GT Prestige/RS, produce their light by firing blue lasers through phosphorus, a process that uses one-half the power of the Celestiq’s LED headlights. Laser headlights can have double the range of LEDs with a much smaller surface area.
