The Q6 e-tron’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The EV6 doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Q6 e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The EV6 doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The Q6 e-tron has Car-to-X Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The EV6 doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

The Audi Q6 e-tron offers an optional Top View Cameras and it also offers an optional rear camera washer to make backing always safe, regardless of road dirt or grime, while the Kia EV6 doesn’t offer a camera washer, requiring manual cleaning.

Both the Q6 e-tron and the EV6 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Audi Q6 e-tron has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The EV6 has not yet been fully evaluated by the IIHS for 2025.

Warranty

The Q6 e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 7 years and unlimited miles longer than the EV6’s (12/unlimited vs. 5/100,000).

Reliability

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Kia vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Audi 2 places higher in reliability than Kia.

Transmission

The Q6 e-tron’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The EV6 doesn’t offer launch control.

Brakes and Stopping

The Q6 e-tron’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the EV6 are solid, not vented.

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the Q6 e-tron has larger standard rear tires than the EV6 (255/55R19 vs. 235/55R19). The Q6 e-tron’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the EV6 (285/45R20 vs. 255/45R20).

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Q6 e-tron can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The EV6 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

Suspension and Handling

The Q6 e-tron Prestige/SQ6 has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Q6 e-tron’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The EV6 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

Passenger Space

The Q6 e-tron has .9 inches more front shoulder room, .4 inches more rear headroom and 1.2 inches more rear shoulder room than the EV6.

Cargo Capacity

The Q6 e-tron has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the EV6 with its rear seat up (30.2 vs. 24.4 cubic feet). The Q6 e-tron has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the EV6 with its rear seat folded (60.2 vs. 46.7 cubic feet).

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Q6 e-tron. The EV6 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Towing

The Q6 e-tron’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the EV6’s (4409 vs. 0 pounds).

Ergonomics

The Q6 e-tron’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The EV6’s standard passenger windows don’t open or close automatically. With the EV6 GT-Line/GT’s power windows, only the front windows open or close automatically.

If the windows are left open on the Q6 e-tron the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the EV6 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Q6 e-tron’s standard Audi Advanced Key allows you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Smart Key standard on the EV6 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q6 e-tron to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The EV6 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Q6 e-tron has a standard rear wiper. The EV6 doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q6 e-tron SQ6 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The EV6 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Q6 e-tron offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The EV6 doesn’t offer cornering lights.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Q6 e-tron to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The EV6 doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The Q6 e-tron’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The EV6 has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Q6 e-tron SQ6 has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the EV6.

The Audi Q6 e-tron has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Kia charges extra for Homelink® on the EV6.
