The Q6 e-tron’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The ZDX doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

With its standard Active Front Assist, the Audi Q6 e-tron is better at preventing collisions with pedestrians than the Acura ZDX, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety:

The Q6 e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The ZDX doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The Q6 e-tron has Car-to-X Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The ZDX doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

The Q6 e-tron’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The ZDX doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Q6 e-tron and the ZDX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The Audi Q6 e-tron has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The ZDX is not even a standard “Top Safety Pick” for 2025.

The Q6 e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the ZDX’s (12 vs. 5 years).

There are over 12 percent more Audi dealers than there are Acura dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Q6 e-tron’s warranty.

The Q6 e-tron has a standard locking charge port which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The ZDX doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

The Q6 e-tron stops much shorter than the ZDX:

The Q6 e-tron Prestige/SQ6 has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Q6 e-tron’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The ZDX doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The Q6 e-tron Prestige Quattro handles at .83 G’s, while the ZDX A-Spec 4x4 pulls only .78 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Q6 e-tron Prestige Quattro executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the ZDX A-Spec 4x4 (25.4 seconds @ .74 average G’s vs. 26.3 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

The Audi Q6 e-tron may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 450 to 750 pounds less than the Acura ZDX.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q6 e-tron to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The ZDX doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q6 e-tron SQ6 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The ZDX doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Q6 e-tron offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The ZDX doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The Q6 e-tron’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The ZDX has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Q6 e-tron SQ6 has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the ZDX.
