Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Audi Q4 e-tron higher (10 out of 10) than the Porsche Cayenne (4). This means the Q4 e-tron produces up to 25 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Cayenne every 15,000 miles.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Q4 e-tron’s standard brake rotors are larger than those on the Cayenne:

Suspension and Handling

The Q4 e-tron’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the Cayenne’s (52% to 48%). This gives the Q4 e-tron more stable handling and braking.

For better maneuverability, the Q4 e-tron 45’s turning circle is 6.2 feet tighter than the Cayenne’s (33.5 feet vs. 39.7 feet). The Q4 e-tron 55’s turning circle is 2 feet tighter than the Cayenne’s (37.7 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

Chassis

The Q4 45 e-tron is 1 foot, 1.5 inches shorter than the Cayenne, making the Q4 e-tron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Ergonomics

The Q4 e-tron has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

If the windows are left open on the Q4 e-tron the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Cayenne can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Q4 e-tron has standard extendable sun visors. The Cayenne doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Model Availability

The Q4 e-tron is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Cayenne doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
