Safety

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the Q6 e-tron are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Cayenne Electric doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Audi Q6 e-tron achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Porsche Cayenne Electric has not been tested.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The Q6 e-tron has Car-to-X Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The Cayenne Electric doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure or other vehicles.

Both the Q6 e-tron and the Cayenne Electric have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Audi Q6 e-tron has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2026 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test, and a “Good” score in the revised vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention test. The Cayenne Electric has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2026.

Warranty

Audi pays for scheduled maintenance (up to 1 visits) on the Q6 e-tron for 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Porsche pays for maintenance for the Cayenne Electric (3/30,000 vs. 1/10,000).

There are over 50 percent more Audi dealers than there are Porsche dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Q6 e-tron’s warranty.

Tires and Wheels

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Q6 e-tron can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Cayenne Electric doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the Q6 e-tron’s turning circle is 2 feet tighter than the Cayenne Electric’s (39.7 feet vs. 41.7 feet).

Chassis

The Audi Q6 e-tron may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 350 to 450 pounds less than the Porsche Cayenne Electric.

The Q6 e-tron is 8.5 inches shorter than the Cayenne Electric, making the Q6 e-tron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

The Q6 e-tron has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Cayenne Electric with its rear seat up (30.2 vs. 27.6 cubic feet). The Q6 e-tron has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Cayenne Electric with its rear seat folded (60.2 vs. 56.1 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

If the windows are left open on the Q6 e-tron the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Cayenne Electric can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q6 e-tron SQ6/Prestige has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Cayenne Electric doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Q6 e-tron has standard extendable sun visors. The Cayenne Electric doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Q6 e-tron SQ6 has standard massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the Cayenne Electric.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Audi Q6 e-tron has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Cayenne Electric.
