2026 Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback
2026 Kia EV6

Safety

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The EV6 doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The EV6 doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Q4 e-tron Sportback. But it costs extra on the EV6.

Both the Q4 e-tron Sportback and the EV6 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration does 35 MPH front crash tests on new vehicles. In this test, results indicate that the Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback is safer than the Kia EV6:

Tires and Wheels

For better traction and acceleration, the Q4 e-tron Sportback has larger rear tires than the EV6 (255/45R20 vs. 235/55R19).

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s standard 235/50R20 front and 255/45R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series front and 45 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the EV6’s standard 55 series tires. The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s optional 255/40R21 rear tires have a lower 40 series profile than the EV6 GT-Line e-AWD’s optional 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q4 e-tron Sportback has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the EV6. The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s optional 21-inch wheels are larger than the 20-inch wheels optional on the EV6 GT-Line e-AWD.

Suspension and Handling

The Q4 e-tron Sportback handles at .81 G’s, while the EV6 Wind e-AWD pulls only .79 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

Chassis

The Q4 e-tron Sportback is 4.2 inches shorter than the EV6, making the Q4 e-tron Sportback easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the EV6 with its rear seat up (26.1 vs. 24.4 cubic feet). The Q4 e-tron Sportback has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the EV6 with its rear seat folded (54.4 vs. 46.7 cubic feet).

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Q4 e-tron Sportback. The EV6 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Towing

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the EV6’s (2650 vs. 0 pounds).

Ergonomics

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The EV6’s standard passenger windows don’t open or close automatically. With the EV6 GT-Line’s power windows, only the front windows open or close automatically.

If the windows are left open on the Q4 e-tron Sportback the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the EV6 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q4 e-tron Sportback to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The EV6 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

Consumer Reports rated the Q4 e-tron Sportback’s headlight performance “Very Good,” a higher rating than the EV6’s headlights, which were rated “Good.”

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q4 e-tron Sportback Premium Plus offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The EV6 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback’s optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The EV6 has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Q4 e-tron Sportback has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the EV6.
