Safety

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi e-tron GT are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Rolls-Royce Spectre doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the e-tron GT are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Spectre doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

The e-tron GT has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Spectre doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The e-tron GT Prestige/RS has a standard Maneuver Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Spectre doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

Both the e-tron GT and Spectre have rear cross-traffic warning, but the e-tron GT has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Spectre’s Cross Traffic Warning doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the e-tron GT and the Spectre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all-wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The e-tron GT’s corrosion warranty is 8 years longer than the Spectre’s (12 vs. 4 years).

There are over 8 times as many Audi dealers as there are Rolls-Royce dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the e-tron GT’s warranty.

Engine

The e-tron GT’s electric motors produces 335 more horsepower (912 vs. 577) and 73 lbs.-ft. more torque (737 vs. 664) than the Spectre’s standard electric motors. The e-tron GT’s electric motors produces 253 more horsepower (912 vs. 659) than the Black Badge Spectre’s standard electric motors.

The e-tron GT offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. Tires and Wheels

For better traction, the e-tron GT has larger tires than the Spectre (F:265/35R21 & R:305/30R21 vs. F:255/45R22 & R:285/40R22). The e-tron GT’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Spectre (F:265/35R21 & R:305/30R21 vs. F:255/40R23 & R:295/35R23).

The e-tron GT’s 265/35R21 front and 305/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Spectre’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires. The e-tron GT’s tires are lower profile than the Spectre’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

Suspension and Handling

The e-tron GT’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (49% to 51%) than the Spectre’s (47% to 53%). This gives the e-tron GT more stable handling and braking.

The RS e-tron GT performance handles at 1.01 G’s, while the Spectre pulls only .90 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the e-tron GT’s turning circle is 3.6 feet tighter than the Spectre’s (38.1 feet vs. 41.7 feet).

Chassis

The Audi e-tron GT may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1300 pounds less than the Rolls-Royce Spectre.

The e-tron GT is 1 foot, 6.9 inches shorter than the Spectre, making the e-tron GT easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The e-tron GT is 7 inches shorter in height than the Spectre, making the e-tron GT much easier to wash and garage and drive (lower center of gravity).

Passenger Space

Cargo Capacity

The e-tron GT’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Spectre doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the e-tron GT’s trunk can be opened and closed just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The Spectre doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

Ergonomics

The e-tron GT’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Spectre’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The e-tron GT’s power window, power lock and power mirror switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Spectre’s power window switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

Laser headlights, standard on the e-tron GT Prestige/RS, produce their light by firing blue lasers through phosphorus, a process that uses one-half the power of the Spectre’s LED headlights. Laser headlights can have double the range of LEDs with a much smaller surface area.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the e-tron GT has standard extendable sun visors. The Spectre doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The e-tron GT’s Park Assist Plus can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Spectre’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
