Compare the2027 Audi Q8 VS 2027 Infiniti QX65

Both the Q8 and QX65 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Q8 has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The QX65’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Q8’s standard pretensioning seatbelts also sense rear collisions and remove slack from the seatbelts to help protect the occupants from whiplash and other injuries. The QX65 doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Audi Q8 achieved a “Acceptable” rating - the second highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Infiniti QX65 has not been tested.

The Q8 has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The QX65 doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the Q8’s standard Hill Descent Assist allows you to creep down safely. The QX65 doesn’t offer Hill Descent Assist.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The Q8 has Car-to-X Services, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. The QX65 doesn’t offer a system that can receive automated systems from infrastructure.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Q8 Prestige helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The QX65 doesn’t offer a night vision system.

The Audi Q8’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Infiniti QX65 does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the Q8 and QX65 have rear cross-traffic warning, but the Q8 has Automatic Brake Activation (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The QX65’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the Q8 and the QX65 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all-wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Q8’s corrosion warranty is 5 years longer than the QX65’s (12 vs. 7 years).

There are over 57 percent more Audi dealers than there are Infiniti dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Q8’s warranty.

The Q8’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid produces 67 more horsepower (335 vs. 268) and 83 lbs.-ft. more torque (369 vs. 286) than the QX65’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

Regenerative brakes improve the Q8’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The QX65 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The Q8 has 4 gallons more fuel capacity than the QX65 (22.5 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Q8 has a standard locking fuel door, which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the QX65. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The Q8’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The QX65 doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the Q8’s brake rotors are larger than those on the QX65:

The Q8’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the QX65’s standard 50 series tires. The Q8 Prestige’s optional tires have a lower 35 series profile than the QX65 Autograph’s 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q8 has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the QX65. The Q8 Prestige’s optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels on the QX65 Autograph.

The Q8 has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The QX65’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The Q8 has a standard automatic load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The QX65 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Q8’s wheelbase is 3.7 inches longer than on the QX65 (117.9 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

The Q8 Prestige handles at .83 G’s, while the QX65 Autograph pulls only .76 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Q8 Prestige executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1 seconds quicker than the QX65 Autograph (26.9 seconds @ .69 average G’s vs. 27.9 seconds @ .62 average G’s).

The Q8 has 1.2 inches more rear headroom and 4.5 inches more rear legroom than the QX65.

The Q8’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the QX65’s (7700 vs. 6000 pounds).

The engine in the Q8 is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the QX65. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the QX65, the Q8 Prestige has a passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

If the windows are left open on the Q8 the driver can close all of them at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the QX65 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Q8 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The QX65 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

Laser headlights, optional on the Q8 Prestige, produce their light by firing blue lasers through phosphorus, a process that uses one-half the power of the QX65’s LED headlights. Laser headlights can have double the range of LEDs with a much smaller surface area.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q8 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The QX65 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

A manual rear sunshade is optional in the Q8 and power rear side window sunshades are standard in the Q8 Premium Plus/Prestige to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The QX65 doesn’t offer a rear sunshade.

The Q8 Prestige’s Park Assist Plus can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist Plus will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The QX65 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
